1. Summary
- We do not operate accounts, logins, newsletters or contact forms, so there is nothing for you to sign up to and nothing for us to store.
- We do not set our own advertising or analytics cookies.
- Two third parties are involved when you load a page: GetYourGuide (booking widgets and affiliate links) and Google Fonts (typefaces).
- If you email us, we keep your email in order to reply.
- Booking data — names, payment details, vouchers — is handled entirely by GetYourGuide. We never see it.
2. Who we are
mekongdelta.boats is an independent travel information website. For the purposes of data protection law we are the controller of the limited personal data described below. You can reach us at support@mekongdelta.boats.
3. What we collect directly
3.1 Nothing, by default
Simply reading this site does not require you to provide any personal data. There is no account, no registration, no newsletter sign-up and no contact form.
3.2 Email correspondence
If you write to support@mekongdelta.boats, we receive your email address, your message and any information you choose to include. We use it only to respond to you and, where you are reporting a correction, to fix the site. We do not add you to any list and we do not share your address with operators, advertisers or anyone else. Correspondence is retained for as long as needed to deal with the matter, and routinely deleted thereafter.
3.3 Server logs
Our hosting provider records standard technical information for every request — IP address, date and time, requested URL, referring page, browser and operating system. These logs exist for security and troubleshooting, are not used to profile visitors, and are retained only for a short period in line with the host's standard practice.
3.4 Local storage
If you choose a language from the switcher in the header, your browser stores that preference locally (a localStorage entry named mdb_lang). It never leaves your device and is not sent to us. Clearing your browser data removes it.
4. Third parties on this site
4.1 GetYourGuide
Pages on this site embed booking widgets supplied by GetYourGuide Deutschland GmbH, and our booking links carry an affiliate identifier. When a widget loads or you follow such a link, GetYourGuide receives your IP address and technical browser information, and may set cookies on its own domain — including a cookie identifying us as the referring affiliate so that any commission is attributed correctly.
To reduce this, our widgets are loaded lazily: the GetYourGuide script is only fetched when a widget is about to enter your viewport. If you never scroll to a widget and never click a booking link, the script may not load at all.
Any data you provide during a booking — name, contact details, payment information — is collected and processed by GetYourGuide under its own privacy policy. We have no access to it and never see your payment details.
4.2 Google Fonts
We load typefaces from Google Fonts. Your browser therefore makes a request to Google's servers, which receives your IP address and technical browser information. No cookies are set by this request.
4.3 No advertising or analytics
We do not run advertising networks, remarketing pixels, social-media trackers or third-party analytics on this site.
5. Cookies
We set no cookies of our own. Cookies you may encounter come from GetYourGuide, in connection with its widgets and affiliate attribution, and are governed by its cookie policy. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; doing so may prevent the booking widgets from working correctly but will not otherwise affect the site.
6. Legal basis for processing
- Email correspondence: our legitimate interest in responding to enquiries and maintaining an accurate site, and where relevant, steps taken at your request.
- Server logs: our legitimate interest in the security, integrity and availability of the site.
- Third-party embeds: our legitimate interest in providing booking functionality and a readable typeface. Where consent is required in your jurisdiction for non-essential third-party cookies, GetYourGuide's own consent mechanisms apply on its domain.
7. Who we share data with
We do not sell, rent or trade personal data. We do not share it with operators or advertisers. The only parties that receive data in connection with this site are our hosting provider (as part of serving pages) and the third-party services described in section 4, each acting under its own terms.
8. International transfers
The third-party services above operate internationally, so your technical data may be processed outside your country of residence, including in the European Union and the United States. Those providers rely on their own transfer mechanisms, such as standard contractual clauses.
9. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to request access to the personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected or erased, to object to or restrict its processing, and to receive a copy in a portable format. In practice the only personal data we are likely to hold is email correspondence.
To exercise any of these rights, write to support@mekongdelta.boats. We will respond within the period required by applicable law. If you believe we have handled your data improperly, you may complain to your local data protection authority.
For data held by GetYourGuide — including bookings — you must contact GetYourGuide directly, as we have no access to it.
10. Children
This site is intended for a general adult audience planning travel. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has sent us personal data, contact us and we will delete it.
11. Security
The site is served over HTTPS. We hold very little personal data, which is the most effective protection available. No method of transmission or storage is entirely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy to reflect changes in the site or in the law. The effective date at the top shows the current version. Material changes will be reflected on this page.
